ATNE is managed by experienced former teachers. Caroline was a Head of Department; Jon an Assistant Head Teacher. We understand schools, the pressures on staff, and most importantly we understand 'young people', this is a real strength of our work in the outdoors.
As a result of our comprehensive network of contacts we have planned and delivered a wide range of schools based outdoor learning programmes across all key stages from Early Years 'Woodland Days' to 6th Form expeditions. We have worked with schools from London, Derbyshire, Northumberland, Newcastle, Gateshead, North Tyneside, South Tyneside, Durham, Cleveland and Yorkshire.
Forest School, Wider Key Skills, PE Assessments, self-esteem and confidence development, reward days, induction programmes, residential weeks, DofE, staff training; we have experience of working with schools in a wide variety of interesting and exciting ways.
Use our experience and let us help you to plan a fantastic outdoor learning experience for your students and staff.
In March 2016 a small group of students took part in a 2 day expedition with ATNE as part of our AS level PE practical assessment. Prior to this there were four training days in which we received high quality instruction on skills necessary to complete our expedition, including navigation, equipment use and basic survival skills. These skills proved invaluable in our assessment and will continue to do so throughout the rest of our lives. ATNE provided us with an enjoyable and insightful experience that helped us score very highly in our practical grades and will be remembered for years to come. Because of the experience and professionalism of the instructors at ATNE (Jon and Caroline) we have chosen to work with them again to be assessed on a three day expedition as part of our practical grade for A Level PE.
