Testimonials

Jon and Caroline have worked for Newcastle RGS for the last two years or so - helping us develop our climbing provision. They have run a series of one day trips across Northumberland at the meccas of Bowden Doors and Kyloe, and smaller crags like East Woodburn, and down into Yorkshire to Scugdale and the like (crags that we would not otherwise have visited). This has broadened into providing fantastic instruction for some of our more talented and keen climbers into lead climbing courses over weekends, which has meant weekend trips to Burbage, Stanage and the crags around Ingleton. Their knowledge of crags to visit is vast (broadening both the students and my own education about what is out there), their manner with the students has been outstanding, and we have had some brilliant trips out wherever we have gone. Climbing at the RGS is on a real high at present and we are producing some of the most talented climbers in the North-east, which is in no small part to the work they have done for us, and their enthusiasm with the students

A really interesting, adventurous day - learning the basics of how to survive in the wild. The best way to learn is by doing and we certainly got involved in everything - from building fires and whittling wood to preparing a pigeon for frying - it was a wonderful experience. The day was well prepared. Caroline and Jon were informative and patient.
