PE Assessments

As former Heads of PE / Director of Sport, Jon and Caroline have a wealth of experience in delivering GCSE PE, BTec Sport (Level 2 and Level 3) and AS/A2 PE courses in schools .This is why schools from across the UK have asked us to deliver training and assessment programmes for them.

We have successfully delivered:-

  • GCSE Rock Climbing - indoor and outdoor
  • GCSE Orienteering
  • AS / A2 Level Hill walking
  • AS / A2 Level Climbing
  • BTec Sport Outdoor Adventure Activities: Level 2 and Level 3

We can deliver these as evening sessions, on day courses, or as some schools prefer, as a residential experience. We will undertake training and assessments, complete moderations, mark logbooks and provide witness statements.

The National Navigation Award Scheme (NNAS) and the Mountain Training Association's Hill Skills or Mountain Skills Awards are achievable additional qualifications that we offer as stand-alone courses, or as a 'bolt-on' to other courses. They are very popular with students and schools.

Ashington High School have worked with Jon for a number of years now. Following an extra curricular indoor climbing club we have used Jon to lead a 3 day climbing trip to put the skills the students have learnt inside into practice in the great outdoors! Every year the kids love the experience, whatever weather we have faced!! It has provided them with a trip most of them would never normally have the chance to experience. The climbing trip is always made a success due to the excellent organistaion of the trip, the positive relationships Jon quickly and easily establishes with the students and the clear progression all students make in their climbing skills. We also use this weekend as an assessment opportunity for any GCSE or A Level PE students to gain a practical mark. Again this is always a success which Jon supports with written evidence against the criteria for us to pass onto the exam board as evidence. I am sure this enrichment experience is the reason many of our students sign up to climbing year on year and continue their climbing once they have left school.
