This 1 day training course replaces the former 'Appointed Person' course and is suitable for employers who have identified a requirement for Emergency First Aiders at Work in their First Aid Needs Assessment.
The focus of this course is on preventing situations from becoming worse and learning the vital life-saving skills that a trained Emergency First Aider can use until help arrives.
Our instructors deliver dynamic courses that relate the subjects being taught to real life situations, which makes our training more applicable to your first aiders.
Areas Covered
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
- Wounds and bleeding
- Shock
- Minor injuries
- Choking
- Preventing cross infection, recording incidents and actions and the use of available equipment
Assessment and Certification
Candidates are continuously assessed on the their practical first aid skills throughout the day.
Training Venue
This is a popular First Aid training course, which we deliver at our Newcastle upon Tyne base.
